I recently reviewed Sun Cups by Free2b who use the SunButter brand of sunflower seed butter. I believe part of the reason they are so good is the creamy, sunflower seed butter inside. Therefore, I thought I should try out the SunButter products to see if it was something else healthy that I could add into my diet. While I have always been a fan of nut butters for breakfast, I wasn’t sure what I would think of a seed butter on my toast.
After tasting SunButter’s Organic Sunflower Seed Butter, I became a believer in seed butters. It was creamy and very flavorful–a perfect addition to its relatives, the nut butters, in my diet. The Organic SunButter has no oil or sugar added, which is why it ranked number one out of the three products I tried.
I also decided to try the Natural and On-The-Go Creamy varieties. While they are also very flavorful and creamy, they are a bit too sweet for my taste. I like a simple product with nothing else added. The Creamy and Natural varieties are good for that evening sweet tooth, but I enjoyed the no sugar added, Organic variety for my breakfast toast and SunButter sandwiches.
According to their website, “SunButter is free from the top 8 food allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, soy, milk, eggs, wheat, fish, and crustacean shellfish. SunButter is also free from Canada’s ten priority food allergens, which include mustard, sulfites, and sesame.” Their seeds are also locally grown in the US.
I plan to try my attempt at SunButter balls (aka faux peanut butter balls.) I will let you all know how it goes! Make sure to follow me on Instagram at @sturdymomcentral to stay updated on my allergen-friendly and healthy product reviews!
